As the planets conspire to rearrange the heavens and allow for something old to be new again, I am aware of a new sensation.
By publicly reopening the door to discussing the development of the United States of America, our disastrous politics have brought us into focus. The United States of America is a place that imprisons more of it’s citizens than any other country in the world. Restricted (Saturn) Freedom (Sagittarius)
As the bubble of imaginary equality bursts, as phrases such as post-racial, and ‘I don’t see color’ become increasingly laughable, as U.S. newspaper headlines become ever more sinister, our external reality, as in, the reality of our daily lives, has begun to feel as fraught and dangerous, as for some, it already was.
My cognitive dissonance is evaporating in the furnace of the fire this time. This is not at all to diminish the fact that hate crimes are up, and that what is bad looks to soon become worse, but instead to record an emotion that feels a lot like relief.
I am relieved to find that Water Rights, Health Care, Freedom of Religion, Black Rights, Native Rights, LGBT Rights, and the rights of ALL Humans to be treated ethically are a now a topic. You do not have to argue that these issues are crucial. You do not have to interject these into the greater discussion, because they are the discussion. Sagittarius blurts, says what is unspoken, and shrugs off the criticism, because `you all know it’s true’.
I would say the fight has finally made it to the streets, BUT, it’s far more accurate to say the opposite.
The fight for Justice and the fight against it, that has lived continuously on the street, and in the legislature, and various organizations has finally made it back into comfortable upper, middle,(what’s left of it), and working class homes. Also, some of the people of all ethnicities know how much there is to gain, or how little there is to lose, or have intermarried enough to be invested in welcoming and championing the disenfranchised. (thanks Obama!) I mean it!sorrynotsorry, sorry
While Xenophobes, money worshipers, & some despondently poor, clamor to be allowed in to the pearly gated community, hurry to find a way to bribe the doorman, and if not, then at least can they shoot everyone else left behind?
It is scary when the world goes dark, and you don’t have even the faintest flashlight.
I’m counting Civil War over the next few years as a distinct possibility.
With the increasing militarization of the civilian population AND the police how could you not?

Corporatocracy is reaching it’s zenith, and everyone begins to wiggle beneath the boot.*
What’s about to happen to the Economy?
How do Employment and Ethics intersect?
The United States lifts her skirts, we we all see in public, what many have known in private, or only admitted in the groups to which we belong. As greed is disrobed in ever more striking poses, what comes next?
~Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within. I use the word “love” here not merely in the personal sense but as a state of being, or a state of grace– James Baldwin ~
As we watch those who have been on the fringe march into the middle
from all sides, it’s interesting to see that so many
now feel that things are bad enough to take a stand.
Jupiter in Libra asks for Fair.
What stands will be taken?
What kinds of unity are possible?
What kinds of unity will not survive?
What is a template for the role of our business and political leaders in the future?
How will we make money to survive?
That’s a real question isn’t it?
More from the best of the best:
~ Something very sinister happens to the people of a country when they begin to distrust their own reactions as deeply as they do here, and become as joyless as they have become. It is this individual uncertainty on the part of white American men and women, this inability to renew themselves at the fountain of their own lives, that makes the discussion, let alone elucidation, of any conundrum—that is, any reality—so supremely difficult. The person who distrusts himself has no touchstone for reality—for this touchstone can be only oneself. Such a person interposes between himself and reality nothing less than a labyrinth of attitudes. And these attitudes, furthermore, though the person is usually unaware of it (is unaware of so much!), are historical and public attitudes. They do not relate to the present anymore than they relate to the person. Therefore, whatever white people do not know about Negroes reveals, precisely and inexorably, what they do not know about themselves. ~ James Baldwin
